This year's TYPO3 University Days were a complete success and an important event for the exchange of digital solutions in the higher education sector. For +Pluswerk, it was an excellent opportunity to demonstrate our commitment and expertise in university marketing and digital brand management for educational institutions. Markus Buff from +Pluswerk Magdeburg, Anna Stephan and Melanie Wolf from +Pluswerk Dortmund as well as Anne Klingner, Sonja Ziegenbalg, Lisa Weber and Carlos Meyer from +Pluswerk Dresden were on site.

With our presentation on the "TYPO3 upgrade vs. relaunch", the freshly printed university study 2024, the new "Happy Path" method and inspiring live demos of innovative AI tools for student communication, we inspired and enriched the visitors and participants on site.

University study, upgrade strategies and a happy path

+Pluswerk university study

The new study analyzes the websites of 450 universities in the DACH region and provides valuable insights into the use of content management systems, SEO, accessibility, user experience and much more. It became clear that many universities are looking for guidance on how they can make their digital platforms even more targeted in order to achieve higher student satisfaction and more efficient information management. You can find all information and options here.

TYPO3 upgrade vs. relaunch

On the second day of the event, Carlos Meyer and Sonja Ziegenbalg from +Pluswerk Dresden gave their presentation "TYPO3 Upgrade vs Relaunch: Successful through targeted workshops and marketing strategies". Here, participants were introduced to the strategy behind the decision of whether a university should perform a simple upgrade of its existing TYPO3 system or undertake a comprehensive relaunch. The workshop highlighted the benefits and challenges of both approaches. The speakers emphasized the importance of targeted marketing strategies to better reach students and prospective students on the new platform.

Happy Path method

In Leipzig, we also presented the "Happy Path in Student Marketing" method. This method optimizes the user experience along the entire contact path of a student to the university. Through the Happy Path, universities systematically address new students and promote their long-term retention. This clear strategy focuses on the needs of students and ensures that potential students find the relevant information quickly. In this way, universities improve their perception and strengthen their brand image. For more information please click here.

Innovations at the +Pluswerk stand

Our stand was well attended throughout the event. Visitors tested our new AI chatbot prototype for degree course searches, which is specially tailored to the needs of universities and offers students fast and reliable information on degree courses, admissions and much more. In addition, qualified visitors received the University Study 2024 free of charge, which was also in high demand.

In conclusion, it became clear that many participants value +Pluswerk not only as a provider of digital solutions, but also as a partner for the long-term development of university websites. Our focus on open source software and agile methods met with great interest. The Happy Path method in particular was very well received as an innovative approach to student marketing. We look forward to implementing this method together with the universities and accompanying them on their way into the digital future.
