Exciting sessions and current topics
The focus of the camp was on current topics from the TYPO3 world, in particular the new version TYPO3 V13. TYPO3 V13 offers numerous new features and tools, including noticeable performance optimizations, new tools for developers and improvements in the areas of security and usability. The topics of TYPO3 certifications, Extended Long Term Support (ELTS) and TYPO3 upgrades, which play a decisive role for companies and education providers such as colleges and universities, were also discussed intensively.
In particular, the fourth year of ELTS, which we can offer as a TYPO3 Solution Partner, extends the support of a TYPO3 version to 7 years and thus the currently released TYPO3 version 13 is supported until the end of 2031! Please contact us for an individual TYPO3 ELTS offer - to the contact options.
Exchange from person to person
In addition to the sessions and workshops, the +Pluswerk team was able to enter into an intensive exchange with important representatives of the "TYPO3 universe". Many thanks to Daniel Fau and Luisa Faßbender from TYPO3 GmbH and Oliver Dobberkau, President of the TYPO3 Association. The panel discussion with Markus Hartmann, who led an exciting debate on the topics of time tracking and pricing for service providers and agencies, was also particularly interesting.
The "Wordpress drama" reaches the Barcamp
Unplanned and spontaneous, +Pluswerk CEO Jens Krumm explained and discussed the current "drama" surrounding the widely used CMS WordPress with the participants. In essence, it is about a legal dispute between the person Matt Mullenweg, the commercial offers of the open source platform WordPress, the site builder WP Engine and the WordPress plugin "Advanced Custom Fields (ACF)". This discussion offered an unexpected glimpse beyond the TYPO3 horizon. Further information can be found here.
Conclusion
The TYPO3camp Berlin-Brandenburg 2024 was a complete success thanks to the combination of informative sessions, interactive discussions and a relaxed atmosphere. The +Pluswerk team was able to gain many new impressions as participants and is already looking forward to the next TYPO3 event. Special thanks go to the venue bUm.berlin, which made an important contribution to the success of T3CB24 with its ambience and excellent catering.
