From August 1 to 3, 2024, the TYPO3 community met in Karlsruhe for the TYPO3 Developer Days 2024. We were there with two +Pluswerkers and are very happy to have participated in this exciting event and to have exchanged ideas about the latest TYPO3 developments and technologies.

The TYPO3 Developer Days are an annual highlight for us in the world of web development. The 2024 edition was no exception. From +Pluswerk, our CEO Jens Krumm and our UX designer and Scrum Master Anna Stephan from +Pluswerk's Dortmund location were on site. There was a real developer spirit among the 375 participants, which ensured an intensive exchange in a lively atmosphere among like-minded people - this time also for participants without a deep developer background.

Sessions, coding nights and socializing

The three days in Karlsruhe in the middle of summer were extremely varied. Thursday started with 11 insightful presentations on topics such as JavaScript, best practices, PHP and testing. In the evening, the developers' creativity and collaboration were put to the test at the Coding Night. Friday was all about presentations, training and tattoos with the TYPO3 logo. A total of 17 sessions covered topics such as security, documentation and case studies.

There were also inspiring sessions on Saturday, complemented by a photo shoot with all participants and a special award for the best speakers, who were presented with unique 3D-printed surf-themed trophies. We also had a lot of fun at the Social Night, which provided an unforgettable finale with a surf-themed buffet, lively discussions and dancing to the beats of DJ Dennis until the early hours of the morning.

In addition to the many discussions with the participants and speakers, we are delighted to have had a particularly intensive dialog with these industry experts:

With Alexander Veit from Twipla, we discussed new methods of "consent-free website analytics".
We discussed new payment solutions and online marketplaces with Frederic Ebelshäuser from Yatta.
We discussed the future of AI and cloud technologies with Stefan Erkeling from IONOS.

The TYPO3 Developer Days: CMS love that gets under your skin

All in all, the TYPO3 Developer Days offered us a perfect mix of learning, networking and entertainment. Many thanks to the TYPO3 team from the Association and TYPO3 GmbH as well as to the GenoHotel Karlsruhe for the friendly welcome and excellent service. We are already looking forward to next year and the opportunity to be part of this inspiring event again.
