From March 20 to 22, 2025, the German-speaking TYPO3 community met again in Central Germany. The +Pluswerk Dresden Davitec site co-organized the camp, which offered an attractive platform for developers, users and interested parties to discuss the latest developments in TYPO3.
After years in Dresden, this year's camp was held for the first time at the Ernst Abbe University of Applied Sciences in Jena - and it was a real enrichment. The modern premises, the open atmosphere and the fantastically organized barcamp setup made the change of location one of the many plus points of the barcamp.
Old acquaintances and new voices
What makes TYPO3Camp Central Germany so special? Quite clearly: the people. In Jena, it was once again clear how lively and open the TYPO3 community is. Between sessions, at the buffet, over coffee or in the evening program - there were discussions, shop talk and laughter everywhere. What was particularly nice was that there were many new faces, but also many companions from recent years.
From the "official" side, Thomas Maroschick from the TYPO3 Association and Luisa Faßbender, Myrna Gönnemann and of course Daniel Fau from TYPO3 GmbH were there. Our discussions about community development, the upcoming General Assembly and the elections to the TYPO3 Board made it clear how important personal exchange is.

Premiere in Jena: the TYPO3 User Day
A special highlight of this year's camp was the premiere of the 1st TYPO3 User Day on Thursday. The new format was aimed specifically at editors and TYPO3 users and offered practical insights into their day-to-day work. The focus was on topics such as accessibility, artificial intelligence, editorial best practices and modular building block systems. The sessions guided participants through the TYPO3 backend and provided valuable tips.
Particularly exciting: the presentation on the AI-supported TYPO3 extension by +Pluswerk from the Dresden site, Davitec GmbH, which can be used to optimize content directly in the backend. The presentation by eyeable also impressively demonstrated how accessibility can be thought of and implemented digitally. In addition, there was the opportunity to take TYPO3 certifications such as TCCE, TCCC, TCCD and TCCI directly on site - a real plus for all those who wanted to have their know-how officially confirmed.
Diverse sessions and exciting topics
In terms of content, the TYPO3Camp Central Germany 2025 focused primarily on the topics of artificial intelligence (AI) and accessibility. We were particularly impressed by the presentation of the new AI extension from Davitec, which allows content to be analyzed and editorially optimized directly in the TYPO3 backend. This clever extension helps editors and other users to prepare their content in a more targeted way and to view relevant information for addressing target groups directly - a real added value in everyday work.
The topic of accessibility was also examined intensively and from different angles. In addition to the legal framework, the focus was on practical approaches. In the session by +Pluswerk CEO Jens Krumm entitled "Taking accessibility further", it became clear that accessibility is not just a compulsory exercise, but a benefit for all users - through greater comprehensibility, better usability and an overall higher quality of digital offerings. The topic met with a great response - a good sign for the future.
But the camp also offered a wide variety of topics beyond AI and accessibility. Developers were able to exchange ideas in sessions on DevOps, Extbase, design systems and UX. There was also exciting input on performance, data protection, backend optimization and SEO for those who don't come from a technical background. The open barcamp format made it possible to get actively involved and put your own topics on the agenda - in the spirit of the TYPO3 community: collaborative, curious and practical.

Successful community barcamp
The TYPO3Camp Central Germany also showed its best side away from the sessions: at the joint dinner, during the breaks or at the social event in W.O.T. Jena, there was not only networking, but also a lot of laughter, discussion and simply celebrating the community. For many, seeing old colleagues again was a highlight - as was getting to know new TYPO3 faces. The relaxed atmosphere in the evening rounded off the intensive camp days perfectly.
For us at +Pluswerk, t3cmd25 was a complete success - professionally, personally and organizationally. The change of location to Jena was refreshing, the new user day was a strong signal for more practical relevance and the topics around AI, accessibility and community development were discussed at eye level. Our thanks go to the organizing team of Davitec, dreistrom.land and fucodo - we are already looking forward to the TYPO3Camp Central Germany 2026!
