Ride the Wave!
The TYPO3 Camp Vienna 2024 under the motto "Ride the wave" was a complete success and a highlight in the TYPO3 event calendar. Around 100 participants from several countries gathered in the traditional halls of the University of Vienna. For the +Pluswerk team, it was a pleasure to be there again as a sponsor after 2020 and 2022 and to meet the community.
A charming start: the Heurigen tour
Friday evening traditionally began with the popular "Heurigen Tour", organized by Volker Kemeter. In a convivial atmosphere, he led the participants through the picturesque vineyards of Vienna and created a relaxed atmosphere that laid the foundation for the weekend. The evening provided an ideal opportunity to refresh old contacts and meet new faces. A successful start that underlines the unique character of Austria's largest TYPO3 camp.
Highlights and innovations in TYPO3 V13
The upcoming TYPO3 version 13 with its new features was the dominant topic of the weekend. Among other things, the new page tree, content blocks and improved image rendering components, which will offer users more flexibility and control, were discussed. There was also talk of the new interfaces that will make it easier to connect external systems. The presentations and discussions showed that TYPO3 is not only keeping pace, but is also driving innovation, which continues to make it relevant and strong as a reliable open source solution for large online presences.
Added value through personal exchange
The camp offered a variety of presentations and discussions that provided valuable inspiration. Manuel Matuzović's presentation on the topic of accessibility was particularly impressive. His presentation stimulated intensive discussions on the importance of digital accessibility, a topic that is also highly relevant to the +Pluswerk team. Requirement engineering, TYPO3 marketing and the use of AI in more and more areas of digital communication were other topics that were discussed. The exchange with colleagues from Earlybird, including Matthias Hinner and Georg Tiefenbrunn, also brought exciting perspectives and ideas on how accessibility can be further promoted.
A thank you and outlook
Our thanks go to Attila János and his team for the excellent organization. The smooth running and excellent support made for a thoroughly positive experience. Of course, the greetings and background information from Daniel Fau, Luisa Faßbender and Myrna Gönnemann from TYPO3 should not be missed. Their commitment is a valuable contribution that strengthens and connects the TYPO3 community.
After an inspiring weekend, we are already looking forward to the next TYPO3 Camp Vienna, which will take place from May 9 to 11, 2025. We are very happy about the decision to hold the event annually again, which does justice to the growing importance of the TYPO3 Camp. The +Pluswerk team is proud to be part of this growing community and looks forward to being there again next year.
