On September 20 and 21, the DMEXCO - Digital Marketing Expo & Conference 2024 took place in Cologne. +Pluswerk was proud to be represented as a Solution Partner at the TYPO3 GmbH stand.

A key topic at this year's DMEXCO was the dominance of artificial intelligence in the marketing world. In presentations and discussions, it became clear that AI-based solutions are becoming increasingly important not only for data analysis, but also for personalized customer experiences. The question of how AI can be used sensibly and effectively led to lively discussions at our stand between PIMCORE CEO Dietmar Rietsch and +Pluswerk CEO Jens Krumm (pictured below left), among others. With his presentation "Ditch the AI Bullshit Bingo: Create Real Value with AI in Data & Experience Management", Rietsch inspired us to talk about new possible applications and the use of AI in Pimcore for our joint customers.

Sustainability and accessibility

The topics of sustainability and digital accessibility played a central role this year. Many companies were looking for solutions that not only promise economic success, but are also ecologically and socially responsible. With this in mind, we presented our own solutions at our stand, which are specifically aimed at accessible websites in order to strengthen digital participation. During the fair, we also had many stimulating discussions on topics such as product information management and university marketing. In addition, we observed that playful elements are increasingly in demand in marketing strategies. Gamification is becoming more and more important and has become a key trend in customer loyalty.

Key takeaways and outlook

The most important insights we took away from Cologne are as follows:

  • AI is the new standard: AI-based solutions are shaping the future of marketing, as they not only enable efficient data processing, but also customized customer experiences.
  • Content is still king: Relevant content is crucial to the success of digital campaigns and remains at the heart of any successful strategy.
  • Data protection and security as a priority: The importance of data protection and secure digital solutions was a major topic. Security precautions when handling customer data have become an indispensable part of modern marketing strategies.
  • Omnichannel marketing is becoming increasingly important: customers expect seamless experiences across all platforms. +Pluswerk demonstrated ways in which companies can implement this effectively.
